Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated:
This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) sets the rules for using Tasko. It applies to clients, specialists, and visitors. Breaches may lead to content removal, account suspension, or termination.
1. Scope
This AUP forms part of our Terms & Conditions (https://tasko.ng/terms). By using Tasko websites (tasko.ng), apps (app.tasko.ng, pro.tasko.ng), or related services, you agree to this policy. Capitalised terms have the meaning given in the Terms unless stated otherwise.
2. Prohibited activities
You must not use Tasko to engage in, promote, or facilitate any of the following:
- Illegal services or activities under Nigerian law or the law of any place where you operate.
- Adult sexual services, pornography, or sexually explicit content involving minors.
- Weapons, explosives, or illegal drugs (sale, manufacture, or facilitation).
- Money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions evasion, or other financial crime.
- Fraud, scams, phishing, social engineering, or impersonation of Tasko, Paystack, banks, or other users.
- Creating fake accounts, multi-accounting to evade bans, or buying/selling accounts.
- Spam, unsolicited bulk messages, or abusive marketing through Tasko chat or profiles.
- Soliciting or accepting off-platform payments to avoid Tasko Pay, fees, escrow, or dispute protection.
- Identity fraud, false KYC documents, or misuse of another person's NIN, selfie, or bank details.
- Copyright, trademark, or other intellectual-property infringement.
- Harassment, hate speech, discrimination, stalking, threats, or doxxing.
- Violence, incitement to violence, or glorification of terrorism.
- Child exploitation or any content involving minors in a sexual or abusive context.
- Fake reviews, rating manipulation, or paid/coerced testimonials.
- Circumventing platform fees, verification requirements, or security controls.
- Scraping, reverse engineering, or attacking Tasko infrastructure (including malware uploads).
- Using Tasko to process payments for goods/services unrelated to legitimate home or local services booked on the Platform.
3. Marketplace-specific rules
In addition to the prohibitions above:
- Post accurate job descriptions; do not post fake jobs to harvest contacts or prices.
- Specialists must only offer services they are competent and legally allowed to perform.
- Do not share another user's address, phone, or ID outside the job context without consent.
- Do not pressure users to move conversations or payments off Tasko.
4. Enforcement
Tasko may investigate suspected breaches using chat logs, job media, payment records, and verification data. We may remove content, request evidence, suspend or terminate accounts, withhold or reverse payouts where permitted by law and payment-partner rules, and report illegal activity to competent authorities. Decisions are made in good faith; repeated or severe breaches may result in permanent bans across client and Pro accounts linked by email or device signals.
5. Reporting abuse
Report AUP breaches via in-app support or help@tasko.ng. Include job ID, screenshots, and the email on your account where possible. For imminent safety threats, contact local emergency services first, then notify Tasko.
6. Changes
We may update this AUP. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
