These Terms govern your use of Tasko websites and apps. Please read them carefully before creating an account or posting a job.
1. Agreement
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of Tasko websites (tasko.ng, app.tasko.ng, pro.tasko.ng), mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the "Platform") operated by Tasko Nigeria ("Tasko", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Tasko.
2. Who may use Tasko
You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering a binding contract under Nigerian law. Specialists must provide accurate profile, service, and payout information. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity on your account.
3. What Tasko is
Tasko is a technology marketplace that helps clients find independent service specialists ("Specialists") for home and local services. Tasko is not the employer of Specialists and does not perform the underlying service work. Specialists are independent contractors responsible for their own tools, taxes, and compliance with local regulations.
4. Posting jobs and offers
Clients may post job requests with accurate descriptions and locations. Specialists may submit offers with honest pricing and availability. Tasko may remove content that is unlawful, abusive, misleading, or violates these Terms. Either party may decline or cancel in accordance with in-app flows and applicable cancellation rules.
5. Tasko Pay and payments
Where Tasko Pay is available, client payments may be held in escrow until the job is marked complete or resolved under our dispute process. Payouts to Specialists are processed through licensed payment partners. Tasko may charge service or processing fees disclosed in the app before you confirm a transaction. Chargebacks and failed payouts are handled according to partner rules and our dispute policy.
6. Optional verification and trust badges
Specialists may voluntarily complete identity or profile checks to display trust indicators on the Platform. Verification is not mandatory to join Tasko but may help clients choose with more confidence. Tasko does not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of any Specialist's work beyond the protections described in these Terms and in-app policies.
7. User conduct
You agree not to: harass others; post false or defamatory content; circumvent payments through Tasko Pay where required; scrape or reverse-engineer the Platform; use Tasko for unlawful purposes; or infringe intellectual property. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules.
8. Disputes between users
Clients and Specialists should first attempt to resolve issues in chat. If unresolved, either party may contact Tasko support. Tasko may, at its discretion, facilitate mediation or apply escrow rules. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018 or other mandatory Nigerian consumer protections.
9. Intellectual property
Tasko owns the Platform, brand, software, and content we create. You retain ownership of content you upload but grant Tasko a licence to host, display, and process it solely to operate the service. You must not use Tasko trademarks without written permission.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Nigerian law, Tasko is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Platform or from services performed by Specialists. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Platform is limited to the fees paid to Tasko for the transaction giving rise to the claim in the preceding three months, except where liability cannot be limited by law (including fraud or personal injury caused by our negligence).
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Tasko against claims arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Platform, or services you provide or receive, except to the extent caused by Tasko's own breach or negligence.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Courts in Lagos State shall have non-exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to your right to bring claims in your place of residence where mandatory consumer law allows. We encourage contacting help@tasko.ng before formal proceedings.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
